‘It’s A Wonderful Life” Sequel in the Works

Hollywood continues to develop remakes of classic films.

The 1946 film, It’s A Wonderful Life will live on as a sequel. The follow-up to the film will follow George Bailey’s grandson, with his guardian angel being played by Karolyn Grimes.

The original film starred James Stewart and the producer of this film has big shoes to fill.

“The storyline of the new film retains the spirit of the original –- every life is important as long as you have friends,” producer Bob Farnsworth told Variety in a statement.

No release date and other casting news for this film has been released at this time.

‘Full House’ Sequel Series in the Works

Another popular 90s television series is rumored to be heading back to television.

The 90s series Full House could return in a sequel format centered around D.J. (Candace Cameron Bure) and Stephanie Tanner (Jodie Sweetin). If the concept becomes a reality, expect to see Jessie, Danny, Joey, and Aunt Becky as well.

The Newport Gazette, was the first news outlet to report the show’s possible return. The show’s creator, Jeff Franklin, let it slip that he had already started working on a sequel to the show. He also hinted that the majority of the cast had shown interest in reprising their roles.

He said, “Last month I was asked by ABC and [Warner Bros.] to write a new show for the Full House characters.” He continued, “Everyone I’ve spoken with were very open to the idea [of returning].”
This is by no means a confirmation that the show is indeed on its way to production, but there’s a huge possibility that it will. This news comes hot on the heels of the sequel to another 90s sitcom, Boy Meets World. The show’s sequel, Girl Meets World, hits television sometime in 2014.

After the recent announcement that an Independence Day sequel was in the works, many fans wondered if Will Smith would be returning. Sadly, it has now been confirmed that he will not be a part of the sequel.

“[He] can not come back because he’s too expensive, but he’d also be too much of a marquee name,” the film’s director Roland Emmerich said (via Complex Magazine). “It would be too much.”“We’re not doing a total reboot, we’re doing something that’s totally unusual,” he added. “I think some aliens will be back.”

According to Just Jared, the sequel will reportedly be the first of a two part-story with the title ID Forever, Part 1.

Independence Day 2 hits theaters July 2015.
