Ebony magazine celebrates 65-years by reenacting past covers

Ebony magazine has been in circulation for  65-years. The magazine has had some of the most prominent figures in politics, music and the media grace its covers over the years.  To commemorate the occasion, the magazine decided to revisit some of its most memorable covers with today’s hottest stars. Usher, Jurnee Smolliet,  Samuel L. Jackson, Taraji Henson, Mary J. Blige, John Legend, Yolanda Adams, and Regina King are just some of the people who took part in this special collector’s edition.  See if you can guess which figures each celebrity is portraying.

Kanye West on ‘The Cleveland Show?’

Looks like Kanye West will be stepping back into the spotlight pretty soon. . .Well an animated West that is. The new hit series The Cleveland Show, a spin-off from Family Guy, will have  Kanye West voice a character named  ‘Kenny West towards the end of the season.

West’s character, ‘Kenny West’, and Cleveland Jr. will vie for the attention of  the attention of a female student voiced by actress Taraji P. Henson.  Kanye West was said to be very enthusiastic and eager about his ‘role’ on the episode.  The episode will air on May 2, on FOX.

Should be interesting…How much do you guys want to bet there will be an animated Taylor Swift in the mix.

Beauty is her name, best describes all of the women that attended the third annual ESSENCE Black Women in Hollywood Luncheon. The luncheon was held on March 4, at the Beverly Hills Hotel from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. This year’s honorees included : Cicely Tyson (Legend Award);  Gabourey Sidibe (Best Breakthrough Performance);  Queen Latifah (Power Award)Zoe Saldana (Star to Watch Award);  Mary J. Blige (Songstress of the Year).

Jada Pinkett-Smith, Serena Williams, Keke Palmer, Taraji P. Henson, Paula Patton and a host of other celebrities were in attendance.

Sherri Shepherd, Keri Hilson, Eva Marcille, Kristinia De Barge, Lenny Kravitz, Essence Atkins, Bryton MClure, KeKe Palmer, Mya, Morgan Freeman, Sandra Bullock and Selena Gomez were just some of the celebrities that attended the event.

Tyler Perry’s House of Payne and the movie Precious were the big winners of the night!
