The beloved live-action version of Alice in Wonderland is getting a sequel!
Alice in Wonderland 2 is slated to hit theaters on May 27, 2016 release, according to Disney.
The original version, which was directed by Tim Burton, was wildly successful at the box office and brought in $1.025 billion worldwide.
James Bobin is taking over as director of the sequel. Mia Wasikowska is back as Alice and Johnny Depp as Mad Hatter.
Michael Keaton is reportedly ready to don that signature black & white striped suit again.
Sources close to the project have told Variety that director Tim Burton and Keaton are in talks to film a sequel to Beetlejuice.
Seth Grahame Smith has written the script and will produce with partner David Katzenberg through KatzSmith Productions. Grahame-Smith recently tweeted that he had big news on the horizon, but he didn’t go into detail about the information.
Keaton had been interested in returning to the role ever since Warner Bros. announced plans to green-light a sequel. Burton has not been a cheerleader of sequels, as the last one he made was Batman Returns in 1992.
The original Beetlejuice film was released in 1988 and starred Alec Baldwin, Geena Davis and Winona Ryder alongside Michael Keaton.
Female emcee Nicki Minaj sported an interesting outfit as she arrived in South Beach. The “Your Love” singer wore a velour suit, but her face was wrapped up, with only her sunglasses being exposed. No word on why Minaj was sporting the “head wrap”, but it couldn’t have been that cold if she didn’t have a jacket on.
