Ron Burgundy Covers Rolling Stone Magazine

willf-rols

Will Ferrell transformed into his infamous Ron Burgundy chracter for the cover of the new issue of Rolling Stone magazine.

In this issue, Ferrell shares what it was like to don those Burgundy digs for the second time around. Anchorman 2 hits theaters Dec. 18.

Check out what Will Ferrell & Co. had to say to Rolling Stone below.

Will Ferrell:
On filming Anchorman 2:
“It really feels like the last one, where we couldn’t believe they’d given us money to do these ridiculous things. This one, it’s all about making everything even more ridiculous.”

On controlling his expectations:
“Anyone in comedy who says they knew something was gonna work is full of s**t. I want to keep making things where, potentially, I do turn off part of the audience. Because the percentage that’s going, ‘I can’t believe this is happening, and I love it’ – that’s what I gravitate toward.”

Paul Rudd:
On taking on the sequel:
“The difference with this one is I’m aware that people are watching us. The first one, no one cared.”

Adam McKay:
On directing “Anchorman 2”:
“Comedy is built on surprise. So sequels are hard. We didn’t want to repeat ourselves.”

James Marsden Reflects on ‘Anchorman 2’ Role with THE JOURNAL

jamesmar1

The Journal gets personal with Anchorman 2 star, James Marsden.

Check out what the actor had to say about taking on a comedic role opposite Will Ferrell.

On his role in Anchorman 2:
“I play Jack, the cocky hotshot news anchor who has a bit of a competition with Ron Burgundy at the network. It was such a blast. Those guys are such masters of improvisation. It’s amazing how unselfish they are. I got the jitters a bit at first, but Will and Adam [McKay, Mr. Ferrell’s producing partner] are very welcoming of new talent. They encourage you to come up with your own jokes. Huge safety net. The real challenge was just keeping it together and not laughing. The big prize was getting Will to crack. I did it twice!”

On his comedic roles:
“I don’t know what happened. I guess I got funny all of a sudden. I like playing characters who think they’re great, but they’re not, you know? They’re misguided, but they don’t know it – that’s a goldmine for comedy. Their confidence is misplaced.”

Tell-All ‘Ron Burgundy’ Book To Be Released in November

willf-ronburgundy
A tell-all memoir written by fictional Anchorman character Ron Burgundy is on its way!

The book, titled  “LET ME OFF AT THE TOP!: My Classy Life and Other Musings,” by Will Ferrell‘s “Anchorman” will be released on November 19, 2013, just one month before the release of Anchorman: The Legend Continues.

Book Synopsis:

Ron Burgundy is known to all as the lead anchorman of San Diego’s award-winning Action 4 News Team and anchor of the first 24-hour news channel, GNN (Global News Network), but few know the real man behind the news desk. In LET ME OFF AT THE TOP! My Classy Life and Other Musings he will share never-before-told stories of his childhood and the events that led him to choose a career in the news business. He will offer a rare glimpse behind the camera into the real life of a man many consider to be our greatest living news anchor.  In his own words, he will share personal anecdotes about the women in his life, about his dog, Baxter, and his legendary news team. Along the way, he’ll also give sage advice on a variety of topics that matter most to him. The long wait is over. Ron Burgundy pulls no punches in this widely anticipated, fully authorized tell-all autobiography.

Ron Burgundy on the book: “I don’t know if it’s the greatest autobiography ever written. I’m too close to the work. I will tell you this much: The first time I sat down and read this thing… I cried like a goddamn baby, and you can take that to the bank.”

“LET ME OFF AT THE TOP!: My Classy Life and Other Musings,” is availble for pre-order now on Amazon.com.
