Kevin Hart has stepped down from hosting the Oscars amid tweet controversy.
Just days after accepting the gig, Hart has decided to no longer host the Academy Awards. This comes after onlookers resurrected Hart’s tweets from 2009 through 2011 that included derogatory language referring to homosexuals and made negative comments about sexuality.
Hart was asked to apologize by the Academy or lose the gig. He opted not to, only to later resign from the gig and issue an apology. He took to social media to issue the apology.
He wrote, “I have made the choice to step down from hosting this year’s Oscar’s,” Hart, who is currently performing in Sydney, Australia, announced late Sunday on Twitter. “This is because I do not want to be a distraction on a night that should be celebrated by so many amazing talented artists. I sincerely apologize to the LGBTQ community for my insensitive words from my past. I’m sorry that I hurt people… I am evolving and want to continue to do so. My goal is to bring people together not tear us apart. Much love & appreciation to the Academy. I hope we can meet again.”

The female emcee gave birth this past summer and though a few grainy shots of the tot were leaked, Cardi hadn’t shown the world what her daughter looked like.
That secrecy ended earlier today, as the rapper posted a photo of Kulture with the caption, “My heart ❤️”
Kulture is the first child for the Bronx native, who gave birth back in July.
That Instagram post came just hours after Cardi posted a video telling fans that she and Migos rapper Offset had called it quits. Fans are still not certain if the breakup video is real or just a ploy to get attention.
Kevin Hart is set to host the upcoming Academy Awards.
Hart has been vocal over the years about wanting to host the highly acclaimed award show.
The comedian took to social media to make the announcement and express his excitement.
“For years I have been asked if I would ever Host the Oscars and my answer was always the same,” he wrote on Instagram. “I said that it would be the opportunity of a lifetime for me as a comedian and that it will happen when it’s supposed to. I am so happy to say that day has finally come for me to host the Oscars.”
He continued, “To be able to join the legendary list of host who have graced that stage is unbelievable,” Hart continued. “I know my mom is smiling from ear to ear right now.”
The Oscars will air on NBC on February 24.
George H.W. Bush, the 41st president of the United States and the father of the 43rd, has died. He was 94.
Bush died on November 30 and was the last veteran of World War II to serve as president.
His death was announced in a tweet by Jim McGrath, his spokesman.
Bush’s cause of his death is not immediately available.
Back in 2012, he announced that he had vascular Parkinsonism, a condition that limited his mobility.
His wife of 73 years, Barbara Bush,died on April 17.
Entertainment Weekly has crowned their Entertainers of the Year with four special covers.
The entertainers include two groups, a female emcee and an actor. Cardi B., the Women of Crazy Rich Asians, the Women of “Black Panther” and Darren Criss we’re all given the honor this year.
All individuals have been the talk of the town in their respective fields this year, so it was only fitting they’d all be given the title. And instead of meshing everyone together, EW opted to showcase each group and individual in their own category.

Jason Derulo is the latest celeb to sign on for the musical movie version of ‘CATS.’
Derulo will play a cat named Rum Tum Tugger, who is know for being rebellious.
The screen adaptation of the Andrew Lloyd Webber musical will begin production next month. Stephen Spielberg is also serving as one of the movie’s executive producers.
